Young Love

Do you remember the time we lost a mountain looking for an ant? Or the time we bought the earth hoping to watch the flowing crystals?

Do you remember the higher-ups said that gods were an issue but we sliced the melon and ate it with the seeds anyway?

We both know They weren’t an issue but revenge is a dreadful thing, and you lost your step, and your soul fell out.

See, we’ve ran to the stars and back without ever missing a step.

It must’ve been Them.

And so we peeled the skin of the grass in search of the dolphins; we went to the children who sold sweet honey, only to be left with just one rainy shadow.

So we repeated this story at bedtime over and over till the floors became soft,
Till we convinced ourselves.
Till we are only left with memories and good friendship.
